Which reversal occurs in the sea breeze circulation at night?
Answer: D
At night the land cools faster than the sea, reversing the temperature contrast and hence the solenoidal term, so a weaker land breeze blows offshore. It is weaker because the nocturnal temperature contrast is smaller and the stable boundary layer is shallower. The Coriolis force does turn the sea breeze over the course of a long afternoon, which is why the final option is plausible, but that turning modifies rather than replaces the direct circulation.
