According to Lev Vygotsky's theory, inner speech :
Answer: D
In Vygotsky's theory, inner speech is a way for children to regulate their own thinking.
Vygotsky held that the speech children use with others gradually turns inward. Young children talk aloud to themselves as they work (private speech) to plan and guide their actions; over time this becomes silent inner speech, the verbal thought adults use to direct their thinking and behaviour. It is a tool of self-regulation.
Piaget called children's self-talk 'egocentric speech' and saw it as a sign of immaturity; Vygotsky rejected that view. Inner speech is not a sign of delay or talk with an imaginary friend.
