Which unit is conventionally used for the mixing ratio?
Answer: D
Mixing ratios are quoted in grams of vapour per kilogram of dry air, giving values from under one in polar air to nearly thirty in the humid tropics. The convenient magnitude is why the unit was adopted. Expressing it as a pure ratio requires values like 0.02, which is less readable, and the vapour pressure in hectopascals is a related but distinct quantity. Working one numerical case through both cases side by side fixes the distinction better than any rule of thumb.
