Discussion
At the elementary level, which one of the following topics would be most suitable for discussion and experience sharing in the EVS class ?
Answer: D
The most suitable topic is Everyone does not get the facility of water equally.
EVS at the primary level starts from children's own lives and links them to social issues. Unequal access to water is something many children experience or see, so they can share experiences, discuss fairness and relate it to their surroundings, as the NCERT EVS books do.
Density, soluble substances and evaporation are scientific concepts better learnt through activity and observation than through experience sharing, and density in particular is too abstract for this level. Pairing the Dandi march with evaporation mixes a historical event with a concept and does not invite discussion of children's experiences.
