I know that people my age don’t like doing science at school. But I go to a big high school where science subjects are really popular
amongst students. We frequently have special days called Science days at school, which are organised by our headmaster and all the
teachers. On these days, people working in science are invited to come and tell us about their jobs. On the last science day we had no
idea what was planned for us. A real working robot came to spend the day with us at school! It was fantastic!

The robot’s name was Gizmo. We were told that he was the most advanced robot in the world, and we quickly realised he was no
ordinary machine. He could do lots of amazing things like walking up and down the stairs, waving and even dancing to rock music!
He was about the same size as us, with long arms and legs, but apart from that not at all similar to a real person. Instead of a face, for
example, he had a helmet like a spaceman’s. It was very exciting to come face to face with the latest technology!

The company that made Gizmo said it actually took them as long as twenty years to make him, but they think that within another
twenty years, he will be a common sight in homes. Everyone at my school liked the way Gizmo behaved, he always said ‘please’ and
‘thank you’, and even fetched our snacks. He also seemed to know when to stop when one of the students walked in front of him.

Though Gizmo could do so many things, when we tried to talk to him, he did not say anything at all. The company that developed the
robot hope they can make one that will be able to do complicated things like have discussions, but they think it’s some years away.

The whole day with Gizmo was a great success. Now lots of us feel we want to go into careers in science and technology which is
just the result our headmaster wanted. He said that the day had been worth all the hard work to arrange it.

रोबोट का नाम गिज़्मो (Gizmo) था। हमें बताया गया था कि वह विश्व का सबसे उन्नत रोबोट है, और हमें तुरं त एहसास हो गया कि वह कोई
साधारण मशीन नहीं थी। वह सीढ़ियों पर ऊपर-नीचे चलने, हाथ हिलाने और यहां तक कि रॉक म्यूजिक पर नाचने जैसे कई अद्भुत कार्य कर

shone like the sun and burning like the sun and illuminated this country with his personality and gratitude and got away.
Raised in a simple background Kalam despite being two four from all shortcomings not only became a successful and great
scientist but also rose to the highest rank in the country battling adversity. Doctor Kalam traveled from floor to sky. This
extraordinary talent was born into a poor Tamil Muslim family in Rameswaram Tamil Nadu province in India. At birth
hardly anyone has thought that this little boy will take India as a nation builder later. His father Jainal Abidin was a
fisherman by profession and was a pious man. His mother Ashiyamma was a usual housewife and a kind and pious woman.
The parents named their youngest son Abul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. Lack of life was linked to his early life. His
father used to hire boats to fishermen. The family used to maintain the income from it. Despite the calamity the parents gave
good rites to Kalam. His father had a great influence on his life. Even though he was not educated but his customs were very
useful for Kalam. At the age of five he started his elementary education from Panchayat Primary School in Rameswaram. It
was here that he got a noble lesson from his teacher Iyadrai Solomon. To achieve success and favorable results in life one
must fully understand and establish dominance over these three powers rather than intense desire faith and more. Little
Kalam assimilated this lesson and started the journey ahead. His teachers were very impressed with the talent he introduced
during elementary education. During the early education itself when there was a lack of meaning he worked to distribute
newspapers to continue his studies and to support the income. After his early education Kalam completed high school from a
school in Ramanathapuram. He had a keen interest in science from the beginning. He joined Saint Joseph College
Tiruchirapalli and received his BSc degree from there. On the advice of his teachers he moved to Madras Institute of
Technology Chennai for postgraduate education. It was there that he chose aeronautical engineering to shape his dreams.
Kalam started his golden journey in science as a budding young scientist after completing his training from the Madras
Institute of Technology. Then he started his first job at the Civil Aviation Technical Center in Bangalore. Where he showed
his unique talent and designed a supersonic anti aircraft. A turning point in his life came when he had an opportunity to join
the Indian Space Research Organization. His work was also highly appreciated here. He was deeply involved with many
satellite launch projects. He played a central role in setting the Rohini satellite and with this India became a member of the
International Space Club. During his lifetime he was awarded many awards and honors for his achievements and public
service. He was awarded the titles of Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India. While he was
awarded the Bharat Ratna the highest civilian honor of the country in the same year he was awarded with the Indira Gandhi
Award for National Integration.

फोटोग्राफी और चित्रकला और खेलकू द आदि। इनमे सबसे अधिक लोकप्रिय साधन चलचित्र है। चलचित्र का विचित्र ईजात आधुनिक
समाज के दैनिक उपयोग की जरूरत बन गया है। हमारे सामाजिक जीवन में चलचित्र ने इतना घर कर लिया है कि उसके बिना
सामाजिक जीवन कु छ अधूरा सा मालूम पडता है। सिनेमा देखना जनता के लिए जीवन में भोजन और पानी की तरह जरूरी हो गया है।

प्रतिदिन शाम को चित्रपट के सामने एकत्रित जनसमुदाय नर नारियों को समवाय देख कर चित्रपट की जनप्रियता तथा उपयोगिता का
अनुमान लगाया जा सकता है। मनोरं जन सिनेमा का विशेष प्रयोजन है। लेकिन मनोरं जन के अलावा भी जीवन में इसका बहुत योगदान
है। इसके अनेक लाभ हैं। आधुनिक काल में मानव बहुत मशगूल हो गया है। उसकी जरूरतें बहुत बढ गयी हैं। मशगूलता के इस युग में
इंसान के पास मनोरं जन का समय नहीं है। यह सभी जानते हैं कि इंसान भोजन के बिना चाहे कु छ समय तक ठीक रह जाये लेकिन
मनोरं जन के बिना वह ठीक नहीं रह सकता है। चित्रपट इंसान की इसी अभिलाषा की पूरा करता है। यह मानव जीवन की उदासीनता
को दू र कर ताजगी और नयी उमंग भरता है। दिनभर के काम से मशगूल तथा थके हुए नर नारी शाम को सिनेमा हाल में बैठकर खुश हो
जाते हैं और दिनभर की थकान को भूल जाते हैं। चित्रपट पर हम सिनेमा हाल में बैठे हिमालय के शिखर तथा हिंसक वन के जीव आदि व
और चीजें भी देख सकते हैं जिनको देखने के बारे में हम सोच भी नहीं सकते है। इससे मनोरं जन तो होता ही है साथ ही हमारे ज्ञान में
बढोतरी भी होती है। इसके लिए अब कहीं जाने की जरूरत नहीं होती। घर पर ही चलचित्र के जरिये से यह सब कु छ देखा जा सकता है।
कही बाहर जाने की जरूरत नही है। और इसमें अनेक प्रकार के समाचार भी सुने जा सकते हैं। मनोरं जन के अलावा सिनेमा से समाज
को और भी अनेक लाभ होते हैं। यह शिक्षा के एक उपयोगी साधन के रूप मिलता है। ऐतिहासिक घटनाओं को चलचित्र पर सजीव
देखकर जैसे आसानी से कम समय में जो ज्ञान हो सकता है वह ज्ञान किताबों को पढने से नहीं हो सकता। अलग अलग प्रदेशों के चित्रपट
पर साक्षात देखकर वहां की कु दरती बनावट एवं जनता का रहन सहन आदि का ज्ञान हो सकता है जो भूगोल की किताब पढने से कदापि
संभव नहीं है। इसी प्रकार और विषयों की शिक्षा भी चित्रपट के जरिये सरलता से दी जा सकती है। सिनेमा सामाजिक आलोचक के रूप
में सेवा करता है। सामाजिक कु प्रभावों तथा दोषों को जड से उखाडने में चित्रपट अहम भूमिका निभाता है। यह समाज की कु प्रथाओं को
चित्रपट पर दिखता है और जनता के दिलों में उनके प्रति नफरत का भाव पैदा करता है। हम चित्रपट पर दहेज प्रथा और बाल विवाह और
मदिरापान से होने वाले घातक परिणाम को देखते हैं। तो हमारे मन में उनके प्रति नफरत की भावना पैदा हो जाती है। इस प्रकार चित्रपट
समाज की आलोचना करता है और एक सुधारक का काम भी करता है। हर एक चीज गुण के साथ दोष भी रखती है। सिनेमा में जहां
अनेक गुण तथा लाभ देखने को मिलते हैं वही उससे हानियां भी कम नहीं होती हैं।
