Once Guru Nanak was travelling with his two disciples, Bhai Mardana and Bhai Bala. They arrived at a small village. The villagers were very respectful and hospitable. They invited the guru into their homes.
They looked after them and gave them food and comfortable beds. They listened to the Guru’s sermons respectfully.

After spending a few very restful and pleasant days in the village, it was time for the guru to say goodbye and carry on with his long journey. As he left, the villagers crowded around him, seeking his blessings.
He left the village saying, “May this village be destroyed and its people spread all over the world.”

On the same journey, Guru Nanak came to another village. Here, the villagers were not hospitable and friendly. They were rude to the guru and his followers and had no interest in his teachings. They gave the
holy men neither food nor shelter.

As the guru left this village, he blessed the villagers with a gentle smile: “Stay safe, stay here and prosper.”

Bhai Mardana and Bhai Bala couldn’t understand the unjust behaviour of their beloved guru. They asked, “Why did you curse the good villagers and bless the rude ones? Why were you so unfair?”

Guru Nanak told them: “The people of the first village should be uprooted so that they may spread to other places and teach the other people to be as good as they were. But I wanted the people of the second

एक बार, गुरू नानक देव जी, अपने दो शिष्य, भाई मरदाना और भाई बाला के साथ यात्रा कर रहे थे। वे एक छोटे से गाँव में प्रविष्ट हुए। गाँववालों ने उनको बहुत आदर-सम्मान दिया और आतिथ्‍य किया की। उन्होंने गुरू को अपने घरों में
आमंत्रित किया। उन्होंने, उनकी अच्छी देखभाल की और खाने को भोजन और सोने को सुविधाजनक बिस्तर दिया। उन्होंने आदरभाव से गुरु के प्रवचन को सुना।

गाँव में कु छ अत्यंत आरामदायक और सुहावने दिन व्यतीत करने के बाद, अब गुरूजी का, गाँव वालों को अलविदा कहकर, अपनी लंबी यात्रा की पुनः शुरुआत करने का समय आ गया। वे जब चलने लगे तो गाँववाले उन्हें घेर कर खड़े हो
गए और उनसे आशीर्वाद लेने लगे। गाँव से निकलते वक़्त उन्होंने कहा कि, "यह गाँव नष्ट हो जाए और यहाँ के लोग, विश्व भर में फै ल जाएं ।"

उसी यात्रा के दौरान, गुरू नानक देव जी ने एक और गाँव में प्रवेश किया। यहाँ, गाँव वालों ने न तो उनका आतिथ्‍य किया और न ही वे स्नेहशील थे। उन्होंने गुरू और उनके शिष्यों से बेरुखी से व्यवहार किया और उनके प्रवचन में भी कोई
रुचि नहीं दिखाई। उन्होंने पुण्यात्माओं को न तो भोजन दिया और न ही रहने का स्थान।

गाँव से चलने से पहले गुरू ने एक सौम्य मुस्कु राहट के साथ गाँववालों को आशीर्वाद दिया की : "सुरक्षित रहो, और यहीं पर रहते हुए समृद्ध बनो।"
भाई मरदाना और भाई बाला को उनके स्नेहशील गुरू का अन्यायपूर्ण व्यवहार समझ में नहीं आया। उन्होंने पूछा, "आपने अच्छे गाँववालों को अभिशाप और बेरुखे गाँववालों को आशीर्वाद क्यों दिया? आप ने ऐसा अन्याय क्यों किया?"

गुरू नानक देव जी ने उनसे कहा:
"पहले गाँव के लोगों को वहाँ से बाहर निकालना होगा ताकि व अन्य जगहों पर फै ल जाएं और अन्य लोगों को उन्हीं की तरह अच्छा बनने की सीख दें। परं तु मैं, चाहता हूँ कि दू सरे गाँव के लोग जहाँ हैं वहीं रहें ताकि वे अन्य लोगों को
उनकी तरह बुरा न बना सकें ।"

"यदि, पहले गाँव के लोग अपनी गाँव की सीमाओं में ही सुरक्षित रहते हुए समृद्ध रहें, तो वह विश्व के लिए अन्याय होगा। यदि दू सरे गाँव के लोगों को उस जगह से निकालकर अन्य बड़ी जगह में भेजा जाता है तो वे जिस जगह भी जाएं गे,
उसे विषैला औऱ प्रदू षित बना देंगे। अब मुझे बताओ, मैंने अन्याय किया या न्याय?"

Shoreline quality is important to lake fisheries indirectly via its effects on nutrient and sediment loading and directly via alteration of fish habitat. Lakeshore development can result in soil erosion and
sedimentation that can alter lake trophic state and also eliminate spawning habitat. Borman found that shoreline development alters macrophyte communities favouring larger statured plants that can

inputs and removal of woody debris to facilitate lake access can reduce spawning habitat. Nest density and nesting success of largemouth bass and black crappie are reduced as shoreline development
and number of residences increases. Hard shoreline stabilization includes various fixed immovable structures designed to hold an eroding shoreline in place. Hard stabilization is one of the most common
modifiers of topography in the coastal zone. Seawalls jetties groins and offshore breakwaters interrupt sediment exchange and reduce shoreline flexibility to respond to wave and tidal actions.
Armouring the shoreline changes the location and intensity of erosion and deposition. Indirectly hard shoreline stabilization gives a false sense of security and encourages increased development
landward of the walls placing more and more people and property at risk from coastal hazards including waves storm surge and wind. Eventual loss of the recreational beach as shoreline erosion
continues and catches up with the static line of stabilization is almost a certainty. In addition structures beget more structures as small walls or groins are replaced by larger walls and groins. Tide
dominated deltas have estuary like funnel shaped plan views such that shoreline protrusion at the river mouth is unclear. Landward channel tapering is prominent for deltas at macrotidal coasts where

multiple distributary channels form elongate mouth bars that are almost perpendicular to the shoreline and parallel to tidal flow. Meandering tidal channels or creeks are common on the ridges.
Extensive areas of muddy intertidal flat can form especially in front of ridges. The plan view at the mouth of the trunk stream and major distributaries of some other major river deltas such as the

on the lower delta plain by net sediment drift due to the dominance of northeasterly winter monsoon waves. In plan view the lower delta plain in areas distant from main channels and distributaries
where river discharge and sediment supply are small can be controlled by either wave or tidal processes and by relative sea level change during the Holocene. Transgressive coastal features are common
in abandoned former Mississippi delta complexes and between the main distributaries of the Nile delta probably because sea level today is the highest it has been during the Holocene. For example sandy
barrier shorelines backed by bays and lagoons have been formed by reworking and submergence of abandoned delta complexes in the Mississippi and beach ridges barriers and large lagoons
subparallel to the shoreline have formed between the distributaries of the Nile delta.

तमिलनाडु के लोग पोंगल बहुत उमंग के साथ मनाते है। पोंगल असल में तमिलनाडु का बहुत अहम है। यह जनवरी के बीच तीन दिनों तक मनाया जाता है। इसका इतिहास सालों पुराना है तथा इसे तमिलनाडु के अलावा
देश के बाकी भागों जैसे श्रीलंका और मलेशिया और मारिशस और अमेरिका और कनाडा और सिंगापुर तथा बाकी कई जगहों पर रहने वाले तमिल लोग उमंग से मनाते है। तमिलनाडु के प्राय सभी सरकारी आफिस में
इस दिन अवकाश रहता है। यह किसानों के लिए अहमियत है। इसे मनाने का प्रोग्राम खेती से जुडा हुआ होता है। चावल तमिलनाडु के प्रमुख खेती उपज है। चावल अधिक बारिश मांगता है। इंद्र देव बारिश के भगवान है।
इसलिए भगवान इंद्र की पूजा करना पोंगल का विशेष प्रयोजन है। तमिलनाडू के किसान इस की प्रतीक्षा करते है। दिसंबर के अंत तक चावल की खेती के बाद किसानों का अवकाश होता है। यह बहुत धूमधाम से मनाया
जाता है। पोंगल तमिलनाडु का बहुत प्राचीन है। पोंगल के दिन भगवान सूरज देव जी की पूजा की जाती है। पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार एक बार शिव जी ने अपने बैल को देवलोक से धरती पर जाकर इंसानों को एक संदेश
देने के लिए कहा था। भगवान ने कहा कि जाओ बैल धरती पर जा के कहो कि उनको रोज तेल से नहाना चाहिए और महीने में एक बार खाना खाना चाहिए। लेकिन बैल ने इसके विपरीत संदेश धरती पर दिया। उसने कहा
कि आप सभी को एक दिन तेल से नहाना चाहिए और रोज खाना खाना चाहिए। बैल की इस गलती से शिव जी बहुत नाराज हुए और बैल को श्राप दिया कि तुम को धरती पर रहकर किसानों के साथ खेती करने में

सहायता करनी होगी और ऐसा बोलकर बैल को कै लाश से निकाल दिया। तब से ही बैलो का प्रयोग खेती करने में और अधिक अनाज पैदा करने में उनकी सहायता ली जाती है। जब भगवान बाल गोपाल थे तब भगवान इंद्र
को सबक सिखाने का सोच लिया। इसलिये वे देवताओं के राजा बन गए थे। तभी इंद्र देवता को खुद पर बहुत अभिमान होने लगा था। भगवान बाल गोपाल ने अपने गांव के लोगो को भगवान इंद्र की पूजा न करने के लिए
कहा। इस बात से भगवान इंद्र बहुत क्रोधित हुए और बादलो को तूफान लाने और तीन दिन तक लगातार बारिश करने के लिए भेजा। इस तूफान से पूरा गांव तहस नहस हो गया। उस समय सभी की रक्षा करने के लिए
भगवान के शव ने अपनी छोटी सी उंगली में गोवरधन पहाड उठा लिया था। उस समय इंद्र को अपनी गलती का एहसास हुआ। पोंगल एक फसल का समारोह होता है। जो जनवरी महीने के बीच मे आता है। यह तमिलनाडु
के लोगो का प्रमुख होता है। सीजन में ग्रामीण लोग खेती में मशरूफ होते है। नर और नारी एवं बालक सभी खेतो में फसल लगाने जाते है। जब खेत पूरे धान से भर जाता हैं तो ऐसा लगता है जैसे हरे समुद्र की लहरे
लहलहा रही है और ये देखकर किसान का मन खुशी से भर जाता है और ऐसा सीन तमिलनाडु के लोगो के मन में एक अलग ही छाप छोड जाता है। उसके बाद पोंगल के दिन लोग इस चावल की खीर बनाते हैं। वे भी घर
के अंदर नहीं आंगन में बनाते हैं। फिर इस खीर का भोग भगवान को लगया जाता है। इसे ही पोंगल कहा जाता है।
