The last district-specific round was the MTS (TCL) Examination 2024 for Tirap, Changlang and Longding, which finished in March 2025.

APSSB MTS Details
Exam Pattern
MTS selection is by one written test with no physical or skill round. It has four parts of 25 questions each (General Awareness, Reasoning, Arithmetic, English), 2 marks a question, 200 marks in 2 hours. Wrong answers lose nothing. In CSLE 2026 you need 33% overall; the TCL 2024 exam asked for 33% in each subject.
Syllabus
Questions are at Class 10 standard and follow the Board's common syllabus: general knowledge with a slice of Arunachal affairs, everyday reasoning puzzles, school arithmetic (percentages, ratio, interest, time and work, simple tables) and basic English usage with a short comprehension.
Eligibility Criteria
Class 10 pass, or ITI or an equivalent qualification, and age 18 to 35. APST candidates get up to 5 years more and PwBD candidates up to 15.
For CSLE 2026 you also need an Arunachal Pradesh PRC, an APST certificate and the ability to speak an indigenous tribal language, under the state's notification of 26 August 2026.
The 2024 TCL exam had its own residence rule: APST seats went only to tribal residents of that district with a district-issued ST certificate and PRC, and the few unreserved seats to people holding that district's Temporary Resident Certificate or a Class 10 certificate from a school there.
Selection Process
Candidates are ranked on written marks and placed by the order of post and office they chose in the form. Those in the zone are called for document verification; whoever fails to produce originals is dropped and the list is made without them.
Salary
Level 1 of the pay matrix: ₹18,000 to ₹56,900 basic pay a month, with state allowances.
How to Apply
Online at the APSSB portal. The fee is ₹150 in 2026 (it was ₹150 for APST and ₹200 for general candidates in 2024). Persons with disabilities are exempt.
