Assam Police does not hold one exam under its own name. Each post is recruited separately by the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam, at Rehabari, Guwahati, which also fills posts for APRO, Fire and Emergency Services, Civil Defence, Prisons and the Forest Department.
The current round of advertisements came out in December 2025 and January 2026. Applications closed on 28 February 2026 and the physical tests had not been scheduled by mid-October 2026. The round before it, advertised in October 2023, finished with final results in October 2025 and appointment letters on 3 December 2025.

Assam Police Details
Eligibility Criteria
Every post asks that you be a permanent resident of Assam, registered with an employment exchange in the state and able to speak Assamese or another state language. For constable and SI posts, age is proved only by the HSLC admit card or certificate. Height and chest standards for police posts are 162.5 cm for men and 154 cm for women (160 and 152 cm for ST), with an 80 cm chest. Qualification and age band differ by post; see the table above and the individual advertisements.
Selection Process
Constable and driver posts start with the physical efficiency test, and only the best performers there sit the written paper. SI posts reverse it: the written paper comes first. Either way the last steps are a short viva, a merit list on total marks, police verification and a medical. None of the advertisements charges a fee.

How to Apply
All applications go through slprbassam.in and the apcap.in portal. One Application ID covers every advertisement, so register once and add posts to it; a second ID cancels your candidature. You rank the posts you applied for and get at most one.
