BPSC Assistant Audit Officer Syllabus, Exam Pattern

181 topics across 6 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.

Assistant Audit Officers join the Bihar Audit Service in the Audit Directorate of the state Finance Department. BPSC recruits them through a Preliminary, a written Mains and an interview.

The last recruitment was Advertisement 05/2021 for 138 posts. It took almost three years: the Preliminary was in August 2022, the Mains in November 2022 and the final result on 20 January 2024, with 135 selected. BPSC has not advertised the post again since. Don't confuse it with the BPSC Auditor post in the Panchayati Raj Department, which is a separate, lower-paid recruitment that is running in 2026.

Preparation Tips
  • The optional is worth as much as each General Studies paper, so take the one that matches your degree.
  • In 2024 the unreserved candidate needed 441 of 900 in the written papers, just under half. Steady answer writing across all three papers matters more than one strong paper.
