DSSSB ANM Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility

One Tier (Technical): a single CBT of 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours.

Wrong answers cost 0.25. The qualifying minimum applies to Section B only; merit uses the total. Ties are broken on Section B marks, then age.

The Board's Section B syllabus for 816/24 runs to 13 pages and follows the ANM training course:

• Community health: health care levels, village and urban community, health team, communication and counselling.
• Health promotion: nutrition, hygiene, environmental sanitation, safe water, waste disposal, mental health, old age care.
• Primary health care: infection, immunity, immunisation schedule and cold chain, communicable diseases and epidemic management.
• Midwifery: pregnancy, labour, care of mother and newborn, high-risk pregnancy, abnormal labour and puerperium, drugs used in midwifery.
• Women's health, RTIs and HIV/AIDS, family welfare and contraception, sub-centre management and national health programmes.

Section A is at 10th level: current affairs, reasoning, arithmetic, and Hindi and English grammar and comprehension.

Usual relaxations apply (SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3, PwBD 10). Contract staff of the same department get up to 5 more years for time served. Eligibility is checked at the e-dossier stage, not before the exam.

Pay Level 4, ₹25,500 to ₹81,100, Group C, in both MCD and NDMC, plus Delhi allowances.

Online on dsssbonline.nic.in after a one-time registration. Fee ₹100; women (which covers most ANM applicants), SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen pay nothing.

The MCD posts included 8 for PwBD and 14 for ex-servicemen. NDMC declared its posts unsuitable for PwBD.

No ANM vacancy has been advertised since 2024. The last cycle:

DSSSB has no fixed calendar for this post. A new round depends on MCD or NDMC sending a requisition, and would appear on the Current Vacancies page.

Marks, the e-dossier call and the final result for 816/24 are posted on the Latest Result page. Selected candidates are allotted to MCD or NDMC by merit and the preference given in the e-dossier.

• Half the paper is ANM subject matter. Revise from your ANM course books, with most time on midwifery and community health.
• Immunisation schedules and national programmes are easy marks if learnt exactly.

How many ANM posts were advertised last time?

152 under post code 816/24: 144 in MCD and 8 in NDMC.

Is nursing council registration required?

For MCD, yes: you must be registered as an Auxiliary Nurse/Midwife. NDMC asks for an ANM diploma from a nursing council.

What is the age limit?

18 to 27 for MCD and 18 to 34 for NDMC in the 2024 round, before relaxations.

Is there an interview?

No. Selection is on the CBT and document verification.

Is a new ANM recruitment open?

Not as of October 2026.
