IBPS RRB PO Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility

149 topics across 7 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.

IBPS RRB PO recruits Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager) for India's Regional Rural Banks. RRB here means Regional Rural Banks, not the Railway Recruitment Boards.

Regional Rural Banks are sponsored by commercial banks and each works within one state. Allotment is state-wise, and you must be proficient in the local language of the state you apply for.

Unlike the Office Assistant post in the same process, Officer Scale I has a common interview after the Main, and the notification gives preference to graduates in agriculture and allied subjects. The same process also fills Officer Scale II and III, who sit a single exam and then the interview.

The current cycle is CRP RRBs XV, notified on 1 September 2026 on ibps.in.

Preparation Tips
  1. Practise the Preliminary for speed. At 30 seconds a Quant question, choosing which to attempt matters more than method.
  2. Put your Main time into Reasoning and Quant, 50 marks each. Computer Knowledge gives the least back.
  3. Pick English or Hindi early and prepare only that one.
  4. Learn rural and agricultural banking properly. NABARD, priority sector lending, agricultural credit and financial inclusion come up in the paper and again at interview.
  5. Prepare for the interview from the start. It's where a good written score is kept or lost.
  6. If you have an agriculture or allied degree, be ready to talk about your subject. The notification prefers it.
