Indian Army CEE Exam Pattern, Important Dates
159 topics across 5 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
The Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is the online written test that opens every soldier entry into the Indian Army, Agniveers included. It is Phase I. Candidates who clear it go on to a physical rally with the Army Recruiting Office, which is Phase II.
The Army's recruiting year 2027 notices (registration 13 February to 1 April 2026) were followed by the 2026 CEE in June. That cycle is over. There is no all-India CEE calendar to quote ahead of time; dates are announced category by category on the Join Indian Army portal.

Exam Pattern
The CEE is an objective, computer based test, offered in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Oriya, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi and Assamese. Marks are normalised across sessions. The 2025-26 notification for Soldier Technical (Nursing Assistant) gives 100 questions in two hours, full marks for a correct answer, nothing for a blank, and lists no deduction for a wrong one.
Question count, marks and syllabus differ by category, and the portal's own syllabus pages do not always match the notification. For the paper of your category, take the practice CEE on the portal and read the notification of your own recruiting office.
Selection Process

- Phase I: the CEE at an allotted computer centre.
- Shortlisting by a cut-off set against the vacancies, then a second admit card.
