ISRO Scientist EE Eligibility, Important Dates, Cut Off
123 topics across 4 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
Scientist/Engineer 'SC' (Electrical) is a small ISRO intake for electrical engineers, recruited by the ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB), Bengaluru, at Level 10 (₹56,100 basic). It is advertised alongside the Civil, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Architecture posts of the Civil Engineering Programme Office, not with ICRB's written-test recruitment.
The most recent call, Advt. ISRO:ICRB:02(EMC-CEPO):2026 of 28 July 2026, had just 4 vacancies (post code BE005), at NRSC Hyderabad and SAC Ahmedabad. Candidates were picked for interview on their GATE EE score; 28 were called for interviews on 29 October 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
BE/B.Tech or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with 65% aggregate (average of all semesters) or CGPA 6.84 out of 10, plus a valid GATE 2025 or 2026 score in paper EE.
The course must have been completed in its stipulated duration. If the certificate shows only CGPA, the CGPA must meet 6.84; ISRO won't convert it to a percentage. Integrated degree holders are judged on the graduation-level figure if it's shown separately.
Upper age limit 28 on 17 August 2026. That meant a birth date on or after 18 August 1998 for UR and EWS, 18 August 1995 for OBC and 18 August 1993 for SC and ST, where posts were reserved for those categories.
EEE graduates have a second option: ICRB's FAQ also accepts Electrical & Electronics for the much larger Scientist/Engineer 'SC' (Electronics) post.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting on GATE score at 1:7. Only the score counts, not GATE marks or All India Rank.
- Interview for 100 marks: 40 for technical knowledge, 20 for general awareness in your field, 20 for presentation and communication, 10 for comprehension and 10 for academic record. The academic 10 splits into 3 for the institute type (IIT, IISc, IIST, NIT or NIRF top 20), 4 or 2 for grades (CGPA over 9 or 85%; 7.5 to 9 or 71 to 85%) and 3 for an institute rank of 1 to 3.
- Final panel at 50% GATE score and 50% interview.
UR and EWS candidates must reach 50% of the GATE score scale, 50% in the interview and 60% overall. Reserved candidates need 40%, 40% and 50%.
Salary
Pay starts at ₹56,100 basic (Level 10) plus DA, HRA and Transport Allowance. Employees in ISRO quarters give up HRA. Pension is NPS or UPS. Promotions follow the Merit Promotion Scheme, reviewed on merit after a set period.
How to Apply
Through the ICRB advertisement page only. Fee ₹250, not refunded; exempt for women, SC, ST, ex-servicemen and PwBD. Upload the GATE scorecard as a PDF. Employees of government bodies and PSUs must bring a No Objection Certificate to the interview.
