LIC HFL Assistant Eligibility, Important Dates
164 topics across 6 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
LIC HFL Assistant is a post name you'll see on job sites for LIC Housing Finance Limited (LIC HFL), the housing finance company promoted by the Life Insurance Corporation of India.
LIC HFL doesn't currently advertise an Assistant post, and runs no public recruitment exam for it. When the Company's careers page (lichousing.com/careers) was checked on 11 September 2026, it had no notification, no vacancy count, no exam pattern, no syllabus, no closing date and no result.
What it does have is an open application form of about ninety fields. You pick a department, fill in your personal details, work history, education and languages, upload documents and sign a declaration. You can send it at any time. There's no named grade to apply for.
The form makes total experience, employer name, designation and job description required fields. It's built for experienced hires, not for a fresher sitting a clerical exam.
So the vacancy counts, patterns and cut-offs for "LIC HFL Assistant" that circulate online don't come from the Company. If you want an entry-level insurance or finance job reached by exam, LIC itself, the public sector general insurers, GIC Re, AIC and PFRDA all run one (see Preparation tips).

LIC HFL Assistant Details
Eligibility Criteria
No eligibility conditions are published. With no notification there's no age limit, no qualification, no category relaxation, no fee and no reservation table for an Assistant post.
The open application form is the only thing that hints at what the Company wants:
- Work experience is mandatory. Total experience, employer, designation, job description and dates of employment are all required, so someone with no work history can't complete it.
- You apply to a department, not a post. There are sixteen to choose from (listed under Participating institutes).
- Education is recorded at every level: institution, board or university, percentage, year of passing, stream, and whether you studied full-time, part-time or by correspondence and distance learning.
LIC HFL is a separate listed company, not a department of LIC. An LIC notification never covers it, and LIC's own recruitments at licindia.in/careers don't list it.
Selection Process
LIC HFL publishes no selection process for an Assistant post. There's no prelims, mains, descriptive paper, group discussion or interview weighting on record, because there's no notification to contain one.
All the careers page describes is this:
- You fill in the open application form and pick one of sixteen departments.
- You give personal details, a photograph, two addresses, your full work history with annual gross salary, your education, languages (read, write and speak separately) and upload documents.
- You sign a declaration that your candidature for the applied post is liable to be cancelled or rejected without assigning any reasons at any stage of recruitment and after appointment, in which case the Company may dismiss you.
After that nothing is described: no acknowledgement, shortlist, test or interview. It works as a talent pool, not a recruitment cycle with dates.
Participating Institutes
LIC Housing Finance Limited lends for housing. It names LIC of India as its promoter, has its registered office at Bombay Life Building, 2nd Floor, 45/47, Veer Nariman Road, Fort, Mumbai 400001, and is listed on the BSE and NSE.
Its products include home loans, plot loans, loans for pensioners and NRIs, the Griha Suvidha, Griha Suvidha Asha and Griha Sugam schemes, renovation and construction loans, balance transfers, loans against property and builder finance. It also takes public, corporate and green deposits.
The careers form offers these sixteen departments:
| Accounts | Taxation | Secretarial | Audit |
| Credit Appraisal | CRM | Compliance | Corporate Social Responsibility |
| Finance | Human Resource | Information Technology | Legal |
| Marketing | Recovery | Risk Management | Others |
An Assistant would sit in branch and back-office work: loan documents, disbursement records, customer service and recovery follow-up. The form sends you to a department, not to that grade. Subsidiaries such as LICHFL Asset Management Company Limited are separate employers again.
Important Dates
There are no dates. No notification has been issued for an Assistant post, so there's no opening or closing date, exam date, call letter or result.
The application form on lichousing.com/careers is open all year. If LIC HFL ever recruits to a named post by exam, a notification would appear on that same page with a reference number, vacancy table, age limit, fee and application window. Until then, any date you see elsewhere for this post has no source behind it.
Preparation Tips
There's no exam to prepare for. Put the effort into the form, and into recruitments that do exist.
If you're applying to LIC HFL
- Pick the department carefully. It's the substance of the application.
- Use the job description box. It's required, it's free text, and it's the only place in ninety fields where you say anything in your own words.
- Have your work history ready, including annual gross salary and exact dates.
- Fill in languages properly. They're recorded as read, write and speak separately, and a branch-based lender needs them.
- Build the qualification the department wants: CA or CS for Accounts, Taxation, Secretarial or Audit; law for Legal; a technical degree for IT; credit and risk experience for Credit Appraisal, Recovery or Risk Management. The National Housing Bank and RBI rules for housing finance companies govern the business.
If you want an exam-based route
- LIC: Assistant Administrative Officer and Apprentice Development Officer.
- The four public sector general insurers: Administrative Officer and Assistant.
- GIC Re and AIC: Assistant Manager and Management Trainee.
- PFRDA: Officer Grade 'A'.
All of them publish dated notifications with a pattern and syllabus. Links are below.

LIC HFL publishes recruitment only on its own Careers page. A fee demand or call letter for this post from any other address isn't from the Company.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an LIC HFL Assistant exam?
No. LIC Housing Finance publishes no notification, pattern or exam date for it. Its careers page has an open application form and nothing else.
Where do the vacancy figures and cut-offs on other sites come from?

Can a fresher apply?
Not easily. The form requires total experience, employer, designation, job description and dates of employment.

Nothing on the Company's site announces one. If it happens, the notification will be on the Careers page.
