LIC HFL Eligibility, Important Dates and Practice Questions
164 topics across 6 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
LIC Housing Finance Limited (LIC HFL) is a housing finance company promoted by the Life Insurance Corporation of India. It's listed on the BSE and NSE and is a separate employer from LIC.
LIC HFL doesn't run a public recruitment exam, and has no open notification for any grade. Its careers page (lichousing.com/careers), checked on 11 September 2026, lists no vacancies, no exam pattern, no syllabus, no fee and no result.
Instead there's a standing application form of about ninety fields. You choose one of sixteen departments, give your work history, education, languages and documents, and sign a declaration. It's open all year, and because experience and employer details are required, it's aimed at people already working.
Exam patterns and cut-offs posted online under the LIC HFL name aren't from the Company. For an insurance or finance job you can sit an exam for, LIC, the public sector general insurers, GIC Re, AIC and PFRDA all publish notifications (links below).

LIC HFL Details
Eligibility Criteria
LIC HFL publishes no eligibility rules: no age limit, qualification, relaxation, fee or reservation table, because it issues no recruitment notification.
Its application form tells you who it's looking for:
- You must enter total experience, employer, designation, job description and dates of employment. Without a work history you can't complete the form.
- You choose a department rather than a post.
- Each qualification is recorded with institution, percentage, year, stream and whether it was full-time, part-time or correspondence and distance learning.
Don't look for LIC HFL jobs among LIC's own recruitments at licindia.in/careers. The two companies hire separately.
Selection Process
No selection process is published. There's no written test, interview weighting or merit rule on record.
The careers page covers only the application itself:
- Choose a department from the sixteen offered.
- Enter personal details, photograph, correspondence and permanent addresses, work history with annual gross salary, education and languages, and upload documents.
- Accept the declaration that your candidature for the applied post is liable to be cancelled or rejected without assigning any reasons at any stage of recruitment and after appointment, with the Company free to dismiss you.
The site doesn't say what happens next. Treat it as joining a pool of CVs, not as entering an exam.
Participating Institutes
LIC Housing Finance Limited, registered office Bombay Life Building, 2nd Floor, 45/47, Veer Nariman Road, Fort, Mumbai 400001. It names LIC of India as its promoter.
The business is home lending: home and plot loans, loans for pensioners and NRIs, the Griha Suvidha, Griha Suvidha Asha and Griha Sugam schemes, construction and renovation loans, balance transfers, loans against property, professional and builder loans, and public, corporate and green deposits.
The departments you can apply to are:
| Accounts | Taxation | Secretarial | Audit |
| Credit Appraisal | CRM | Compliance | Corporate Social Responsibility |
| Finance | Human Resource | Information Technology | Legal |
| Marketing | Recovery | Risk Management | Others |
The form doesn't ask for a grade. LICHFL Asset Management Company Limited and the other subsidiaries are separate companies and hire on their own.
Important Dates
No dates are published. LIC HFL has no recruitment notification out, so there's no application window, exam date or result date.
The form at lichousing.com/careers stays open year-round. A real recruitment would show up there first, with a reference number, vacancy table, age limit, fee and closing date. The Company's investor pages carry plenty of dated notices (results, board meetings, AGM notices) but none about hiring.
Preparation Tips
With no exam, preparation means making the application count and, if you want a test-based route, preparing for an employer that runs one.
- Department choice matters most. Match it to your qualification: CA or CS for Accounts, Taxation, Secretarial and Audit; a law degree for Legal; a technical degree for IT; credit or collections experience for Credit Appraisal, Recovery and Risk Management.
- Write the job description field properly. It's the one free-text box on the form.
- Keep salary and employment dates exact. They're required.
- Know the rules of the trade. Housing finance companies work under National Housing Bank and RBI directions.
- For an exam route, look at LIC (AAO, ADO), the four public sector general insurers (AO, Assistant), GIC Re and AIC (Assistant Manager, Management Trainee) and PFRDA (Officer Grade 'A'). Each publishes a notification with a pattern you can prepare for.
