The accounts post in the municipal council cadre is the Audit and Accounts Service (Group C), recruited by the Directorate of Municipal Administration, Maharashtra (DMA) through the Maharashtra Municipal Council State Services Group-C Examination 2023. Appointees are posted to nagar parishads and nagar panchayats across the state.
The 2023 recruitment has run for three years. The Part 1 final selection list and Part 2 waiting list came out on 30 August 2024, and the DMA is still issuing appointment orders. No new advertisement for this post has been posted since.

Selection Process
Candidates were selected by merit in the online exam. Each list is Part 1 (final) and Part 2 (additional, or waiting), and later Parts 3 and 4 when more posts were counted. Selected candidates go through document and disability checks and are then appointed temporarily by nomination.
