Community Health Officers in Assam run the sub-centre level Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (health and wellness centres) on contract under the National Health Mission. The Mission Director, NHM Assam, in Guwahati recruits them directly.
The last round was advertised on 19 July 2025 for 882 posts. Skill tests and interviews were held at SIHFW, Khanapara, from 14 to 17 October 2025. Then the whole process was cancelled: a notice listed on the Mission's recruitment page on 14 September 2026 withdraws the advertisement "due to unavoidable circumstances". Nobody was appointed from it, and no new CHO advertisement has been issued as of 16 October 2026.

NHM Assam CHO Details
Eligibility Criteria
- B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with the Integrated Certificate Course in Community Health, or B.Sc (Community Health), registered by the Director of Medical Education, Assam.
- The nursing degree from a college recognised by the Indian Nursing Council or the Assam Nurses' Midwives' and Health Visitors' Council.
- Registered Nurse Registered Midwife (RNRM) with that Council or DME Assam.
- A certificate from your college principal confirming the integrated CCH course, in the Appendix I format.

Selection Process
Shortlisting from the online forms, then a skill test and interview at SIHFW, Six Mile, Khanapara, Guwahati. There was no written paper. No call letters were posted and no TA/DA was paid; the shortlist and schedule went up on the NHM Assam site. Zone preference (Barak Valley, Central, Lower, North and Upper Assam) could count at posting.
Salary
₹27,500 a month, plus a monthly performance-based incentive of up to ₹15,000. It's a contractual engagement, not a pay scale.
How to Apply
Applications were online only, on the NHM Assam portal, with no fee. You uploaded certificates, experience papers and the Appendix I certificate with the form, and no corrections were allowed after submitting.

Cut Off
No merit list or cut-off came out of the 2025 round, because it was cancelled before results. Assam has not published CHO cut-offs for this cycle.
