Rajasthan Nursing Tutor Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility

146 topics across 4 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.

Rajasthan Nursing Tutor isn't advertised as a post of its own. The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board examines it together with three other designations on one paper: Contractual Public Health Care Nurse / Nursing Trainer / Nursing Incharge / Nursing Tutor Direct Recruitment 2025, exam code 216LZ.

DesignationsPublic Health Care Nurse, Nursing Trainer, Nursing Incharge, Nursing Tutor
Exam held9 June 2025
Questions150, four options
Answer keysPrimary 14 August 2025; final 27 November 2025
ResultNot published as at 12 September 2026
Nature of postContractual, under the Rajasthan Contractual Recruitment Rules 2022
EmployersNational Health Mission and the Rajasthan Medical Education Society

So one paper selects for a community health post, a supervisory post and two teaching posts. Candidates are only separated at selection, against each designation's own vacancies. Expect general nursing, not a specialist nursing-education paper.

It sits inside Advertisement No. 01/2025 of 28 January 2025, one combined contractual recruitment for NHM and RajMES, under which the Board examined nineteen cadres in June 2025, each on its own paper. The Board no longer lists that original advertisement, only its amendments, so the vacancy count, fee, age limit, qualification and pay for these posts can't be quoted from anything it still publishes.

How it's scored

The Board prints this formula on the result orders for this recruitment:

Total Marks = Σ [ (RQ × KF) − (WQ × KF) / 3 ] − (Maximum Marks × Not Attempted Questions) / (Total Number of Questions × 3)

RQ is right answers, WQ wrong answers, and KF (the Key Factor) spreads the full marks over the questions left valid after objections, which is why published marks have decimals.

  • A wrong answer costs one third of a question.
  • A blank costs one third too.
  • Leave more than ten per cent of questions (fifteen here) with no option darkened and you're declared ineligible. 131 candidates were removed this way from a companion paper.

Candidates get different question sets. Objections cite the master paper's numbering, cost ₹100 per question, and are taken once.

Syllabus

The Board publishes no syllabus for this paper. Its Syllabus page has schemes for other exams but nothing for the contractual health cadres. If one is issued for a future cycle, it'll appear there.

Work from the Indian Nursing Council curriculum. These are its standard heads, not a Board list:

  • Anatomy and physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, pharmacology
  • Fundamentals of nursing: procedures, asepsis, infection control, patient safety, records
  • Medical and surgical nursing, critical care and emergency nursing
  • Child health and neonatal care
  • Obstetric and gynaecological nursing, and midwifery
  • Mental health and psychiatric nursing
  • Community health nursing, national health programmes, health education
  • Nutrition and dietetics
  • Nursing management, administration and supervision
  • Nursing education: teaching methods, curriculum, evaluation

The three in bold are what the four designations share and a ward post doesn't, so give them extra time. (Bihar's Nursing Tutor syllabus, by contrast, is five clinical heads with no education or administration.)

Eligibility Criteria

The original advertisement isn't on the Board's site any more, so the qualification, age limit, registration requirement and fee for these designations can't be quoted. What the surviving documents show:

  • Contractual. Recruitment is under the Rajasthan Contractual Recruitment Rules 2022, on requisition from NHM and RajMES. These aren't regular posts, and no pay level is printed.
  • Four separate sets of vacancies. You're selected against the designation you applied for.
  • Reservation is for Rajasthan candidates only. Reserved candidates from other states compete as unreserved and pay the general fee.
  • Scheduled and non-scheduled areas compete separately. Merit lists carry a TSP column; scheduled-area posts are for local residents of those areas.
  • Women's sub-quotas. Rajasthan reserves 8 per cent of the women's posts for widows and 2 per cent for divorced or separated women. A widow needs her marriage certificate and her husband's death certificate; a divorced woman needs the court decree, obtained by the last date for applying.
Selection Process
  1. Written exam, 9 June 2025.
  2. Primary answer key, 14 August 2025, with a paid objection window.
  3. Final answer key, 27 November 2025.
  4. Result and cut-offs by designation and category. Not yet published.
  5. Shortlist for document verification, with an online scrutiny form.
  6. Final merit list after verification.
  7. Recommendation to NHM or RajMES, with further lists and withdrawals as places move.

No interview appears in any document for this recruitment.

Companion cadres show what steps 4 to 7 look like. Female Health Worker shortlisted two times the posts on 31 October 2025, with a one-week scrutiny form from 8 to 14 November 2025. Pharma Assistant got a final result on 19 December 2025, then a second list on 9 July 2026 that selected five more and withdrew five recommendations. Hospital Administrator's second list came on 13 August 2026. Those cadres took four and a half to six months from paper to first result.

How to Apply

Apply online through sso.rajasthan.gov.in: log in, open Citizen Apps (G2C), choose the Recruitment Portal, finish your One Time Registration (category, disability status, home state, one-time fee), then apply and pick your designation. What you record at OTR can't be changed on the form. e-Mitra kiosks and Jan Suvidha Kendras can also file it.

The fee is a one-time registration fee. On the Board's current advertisements it's ₹400 for Rajasthan OBC-NCL, MBC-NCL, EWS, SC and ST candidates and all Divyangjan, and higher for general candidates. Out-of-state candidates pay the general fee. Once paid, you don't pay again.

Don't apply for exams you won't sit. Under a Personnel Department circular of 9 May 2025, missing two Rajasthan recruitment exams (RPSC, RSSB or any state agency) in one financial year blocks your OTR statewide. Unblocking costs ₹750 the first time and ₹1,500 the second. With four nursing papers in one week of June 2025, this was easy to trigger.

RajMES runs the state's medical colleges; NHM staffs the primary and community health system. A Nursing Tutor or Trainer could go to either, and shared cadres get separate result orders for each (Social Worker had two on 13 May 2026).

The Board was set up on 29 January 2014 under Article 309 as the Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board, and recruits to posts with grade pay of ₹3,600 or less. Higher posts go to the RPSC at Ajmer. The Board recommends; the employer verifies and appoints.

Result

No result has been published for code 216LZ. The Board's Results page was searched on 12 September 2026 under every name this recruitment uses, including NHM and RajMES (Contractual Posts), NHM (Contractual Posts) and RMES (Contractual Posts). Only the two answer keys exist.

When it comes it'll be on the Results page under NHM and RajMES (Contractual Posts), announced in Press Notes. Nothing is sent to candidates. Expect a cut-off list, a week-long scrutiny form, document verification, then a final list showing rank, category, sub-categories, scheduled-area flag and net marks. Later lists can withdraw earlier recommendations.

Marks run to four decimals because of the Key Factor. A Pharma Assistant candidate was reverted at 197.746 against a cut-off of 197.758.

Cut Off

No cut-off has been published for this paper. Companion cadres are different papers and can't be read across, but they show the scale the Board uses:

Cadre (paper of 12 June 2025)Area and categoryCut-off
Female Health WorkerNon-scheduled, general woman207
Non-scheduled, OBC woman194
Non-scheduled, ST woman158
Scheduled, general woman158
Pharma AssistantNon-scheduled, OBC general, second list197.758

These aren't percentages; published marks run past 212. A later list's cut-off is lower than the first. Cut-offs for 216LZ will appear on the Results page.

Preparation Tips

Search under the right name. There's no post called Nursing Tutor on the Board's indexes. Filter on NHM and RajMES (Contractual Posts) and look for code 216LZ.

Cover the whole nursing curriculum, with extra weight on community health and the national programmes, administration and supervision, and nursing education.

Mark every question. A blank costs the same as a wrong answer, and more than fifteen blanks out of 150 disqualifies you. Practise finishing 150 questions with time to spare; the Board doesn't publish the duration.

Use the objection window if a key looks wrong. It's ₹100 a question.

Read past keys. The primary and final keys for this paper, and the keys for the other nursing papers set the same week (Nurse and Nurse Grade-II, Psychiatric Care Nurse, Female Health Worker, Community Health Officer), are the best guide to the Board's level. For objections the Board accepts evidence from RBSE and NCERT books for classes 6 to 10.

Have documents ready before the result. The scrutiny window may be a week.

Sample Papers

No sample papers are available for this exam. The Board's primary answer key (14 August 2025) and final answer key (27 November 2025) for code 216LZ are the only official record of the paper; comparing them shows which answers changed after objections.

Keys for every Board paper are on its Answer Key page, usually two to three months after the exam.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a separate Rajasthan Nursing Tutor exam?

No. It shares one paper, code 216LZ, with Public Health Care Nurse, Nursing Trainer and Nursing Incharge.

When was the exam?

9 June 2025. 150 questions, four options.

Has the result come out?

Not as at 12 September 2026. Only the answer keys have been published.

Is there negative marking?

Yes. One third off for a wrong answer, and one third off for a blank. Leaving more than ten per cent blank disqualifies you.

Is there a syllabus?

No official one. Use the INC nursing curriculum.

How many posts, and what's the pay?

Neither can be quoted: the original advertisement is no longer published. The posts are contractual.

Is there an interview?

No. Selection is on the written exam and document verification.

Do I get reservation from another state?

No. Only Rajasthan candidates get reserved-category status.

What if I miss an exam I applied for?

Missing two in a financial year blocks your OTR statewide; unblocking is ₹750, then ₹1,500.
