RSMSSB Grade 4 Details
Exam Pattern
The scheme was amended in April 2025. It is a 2-hour objective paper set at Class 10 standard: 120 questions for 200 marks, all of equal value, with one third of a question's marks cut for every wrong answer.
- General knowledge: 70 questions (Rajasthan geography 20, Rajasthan history, art and culture 20, Constitution and state polity 10, current affairs 10, general science 5, basic computer 5)
- General Hindi: 20
- General maths: 15
- General English: 15
Syllabus
Topics come from the amended syllabus:
- Hindi grammar and usage, and official correspondence such as orders, notifications and circulars.
- English tenses, voice, narration, articles, prepositions and Hindi-English translation.
- Rajasthan's physical features, water resources, population, roads and disaster management.
- Rajasthan's history, freedom movement, integration, language, folk culture and monuments.
- The Constitution in outline; the Governor, Chief Minister, Assembly, High Court and district administration.
- Everyday science, current events, and computer basics including MS Office and e-mail.
- Arithmetic up to interest, partnership, time and work, and reading charts.
Eligibility Criteria
- Secondary (Class 10) from a recognised board. Students in the final year could apply, provided they passed before the exam date.
- Age: 18 to 40 on 1 January 2026.
The usual Rajasthan relaxations apply, including 5 years for candidates with a disability and no upper limit for widows and divorced women. Reserved categories from other states count as General.
Selection Process
Written exam, then document verification of about twice the vacancies in each category (handled here by the Secondary Education department, Bikaner), then final selection on merit.
Posts were allotted on merit cum priority: you ranked the Secretariat, RPSC and the field departments in your application, and that order decided where your rank placed you.
Salary
Pay Matrix Level 1, the entry level of the state pay matrix. Like other direct recruits, you are on a fixed monthly payment for the probation period.
How to Apply
The application was online through SSO Rajasthan. One Time Registration is needed first; its fee is ₹600 for General and ₹400 for Rajasthan reserved categories and all candidates with a disability. Set your department priority carefully: it can't be changed after you submit.
