Two objective papers, each 150 questions, 450 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes. Each right answer earns 3 marks and each wrong one loses 1. You need 35% in each paper and 40% overall (5% less for SC and ST). There is no interview.
| Paper I | Marks | Paper II | Marks |

| Hindi | 75 | Book-keeping and accountancy | 75 |
| English | 75 | Business methods | 75 |
| General knowledge (Rajasthan) | 75 | Auditing | 75 |

| Maths | 75 | Rajasthan Service Rules Vol. I (selected chapters) and Joining Time Rules, 1981 | 75 |

Paper I is Senior Secondary level except maths and computers (Secondary). Paper II is graduate level except the two rules sections.
Syllabus
- Paper I: Hindi and English grammar and comprehension; Rajasthan history, culture, geography, polity, economy and current affairs; everyday science; arithmetic and statistics; computer basics with Word, Excel and e-mail.
- Paper II: accounting principles, final accounts, bank reconciliation, depreciation, partnership accounts, insurance claims; forms of business, negotiable instruments, sources of finance; auditing; the Indian economy; and the Rajasthan service and financial rules.
Eligibility Criteria
- A graduate degree, or the Intermediate of ICAI or of the Institute of Cost Accountants, and a computer qualification (O level or higher, COPA or DPCS, a degree or diploma in computer science or IT, or RS-CIT).
- Working Hindi in Devanagari and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.
- CET (Graduation level) 2022: about 15 times the posts, by CET score, were admitted to the main exam.
- Age: 21 to 40. In 2023 everyone got 3 extra years on the upper limit because the exam hadn't been held for three years.
Selection Process
CET score decides entry to the exam; the two papers decide merit. About twice the posts were called for document verification by the Treasuries and Accounts directorate. Posts were allotted on merit cum priority between Junior Accountant and TRA, so the order you put them in mattered.
Salary
Pay Matrix Level 10 for both posts, after two years' probation on a fixed monthly payment.
How to Apply
Online through SSO Rajasthan after One Time Registration, entering your CET (Graduation) application number. You set your post priority in the form and it couldn't be changed afterwards.

Cut Off
TRA final cut-off, General, Non-Scheduled Area: 672.8161 out of 900 (order of September 2025). Junior Accountant lines in the same order were lower, for example OBC 585.0018 and General women 550.1608.
Preparation Tips
- Paper II's two rules sections (RSR and GF&AR) are 150 marks that general accounting study won't cover. Read the bare rules.
- With +3 and −1, guessing between two options is still worth it; blind guessing is not.
- Previous RSSB papers are under Question Paper.
