RSMSSB LDC Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility
152 topics across 5 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
In Rajasthan the LDC post is called Clerk Grade II (lipik grade II). The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB, the old RSMSSB) fills it through one combined recruitment with Junior Assistant: one form, one written exam, one typing test and one merit list. Which title you end up with depends on the department you are allotted.
The current cycle is Advt. 04/2026, dated 12 January 2026, for 10,644 posts (9,642 non-scheduled area, 1,002 scheduled area). Only two employers in it still use the Clerk Grade II title: the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (6 posts) and the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (84 posts). The other 10,554 are Junior Assistant posts.
Only candidates who qualified the CET (Senior Secondary level) 2024 could apply. The written exam was held on 5 July 2026 and the written result came out on 28 September 2026. The typing test is next; its date had not been announced by mid-October 2026.

Exam Pattern
Phase I: written (offline OMR)
| Paper | Questions | Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| I: General Knowledge, Everyday Science and Maths | 150 | 100 | 3 hours |
| II: General Hindi (75) and General English (75) | 150 | 100 | 3 hours |
The level is Class 10 of the Rajasthan board. A wrong answer costs one third of a question's marks. Each question has a fifth bubble, E, for "not attempted": leave all five blank and you lose one third anyway, and leave more than 10% of the paper unmarked and you are disqualified. You get 10 extra minutes to fill the E bubbles.
Phase II: typing on computer
| Test | Time | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Hindi speed | 10 min | 25 |
| Hindi efficiency | 10 min | 25 |
| English speed | 10 min | 25 |
| English efficiency | 10 min | 25 |
Candidates with a disability that exempts them from typing are given their average Phase I marks instead.
Qualifying marks
At least 40% in each Phase I paper and 36% in each Phase II paper, with 5% relaxation for SC and ST. Final rank is the total of both phases.

English: tenses, voice, narration, transformation of sentences, articles, prepositions, translation, error correction, official glossary, synonyms, antonyms, one-word substitution, prefixes and suffixes, confusable words, comprehension, and official, demi-official, circular, notice and tender letters.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification
- Senior Secondary (Class 12) from a recognised board, and
- a computer qualification: O level or higher (DOEACC/NIELIT), NIELIT CCC, COPA or DPCS, a degree, diploma or certificate in computer science or applications, Class 12 with computer science as a subject, a polytechnic diploma in computer science, or RS-CIT from VMOU Kota, and
- working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari and of Rajasthani culture.
You must also hold a CET (Senior Secondary level) 2024 score card; the form asks for your CET application number. Final-year students may apply but must have the qualification before the typing test starts.
Age
18 to 40 years on 1 January 2027. Two post-specific extensions apply on top: one extra year for the RPSC and subordinate-office posts (the 2024 cycle counted age on 1 January 2025), and three extra years for the Pollution Control Board and Board of Secondary Education posts, which had no recruitment in three years.
| Category | Upper age relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS men of Rajasthan | 5 years |
| General women | 5 years |
| SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS women of Rajasthan | 10 years |
| Benchmark disability | 5 years, on top of the category relaxation |
| Ex-servicemen | 15 years, capped at 50 |
| Widows and divorced women | No upper limit |
Apart from the disability addition, relaxations do not stack: you get the single largest one. Reservation applies only to Rajasthan residents; reserved candidates from other states count as general.
Selection Process
- Qualify the CET (Senior Secondary level). It is only an entry ticket; its score is not added to your merit.
- Phase I written exam.
- About three times the posts, category-wise, are called to the Phase II typing test.
- Merit list on Phase I plus Phase II marks, then document verification. In the 2024 cycle the Secondary Education department at Bikaner checked the documents.
- Allotment by merit cum priority across post codes 1 to 6. If you skipped the preference order on the form, the Board allots by merit alone. The Administrative Reforms Department then places its own selectees in departments.
The 2024 cycle gives a sense of the drop-off: 4,197 posts, written exam 11 August 2024, typing test 21 to 24 January 2025, 7,863 called for documents, and 3,947 finally selected. Posts in the scheduled-area ST category went unfilled for want of eligible candidates.
Salary
Clerk Grade II is on Pay Matrix Level 5 of the 7th Pay Commission scale. For the first two years you are a probationer trainee on a fixed monthly remuneration set by the state; HRA, DA, city allowance and special pay are not paid during that time. The Level 5 pay and allowances start once probation is completed and the post-training test is passed. New entrants come under the state's current pension scheme.
How to Apply
- Apply on the SSO portal (sso.rajasthan.gov.in) through Citizen Apps, then the Recruitment Portal, or at an e-Mitra kiosk.
- The fee is a one-time registration (OTR) charge: ₹600 for general and creamy-layer OBC/MBC, ₹400 for Rajasthan's non-creamy OBC/MBC, EWS, SC and ST, and ₹400 for all candidates with a disability. If you have paid OTR before, you pay nothing.
- Under the Personnel Department circular of 9 May 2025, missing two exams of RSSB, RPSC or any state recruiting agency in one financial year blocks your OTR. Unblocking costs ₹750 the first time and ₹1,500 the second.
- The form can be edited for 3 days after it closes, for ₹300, and once more about a month before the exam. Name, father's name, gender, date of birth and photo cannot be changed.

Admit Card
Admit cards are only online, on your SSO login or at recruitment.rajasthan.gov.in under Get Admit Card. For the July 2026 exam the district was shown from 26 June and the admit card from 1 July. Bring an original photo ID, preferably Aadhaar, and a recent 2.5 × 2.5 cm colour photo. The Board's dress code applies.
Result
The written result of 28 September 2026 lists, separately for non-scheduled and scheduled areas, everyone who cleared the minimum marks and, from them, the roughly three-times shortlist for typing. One question was deleted from each set of Paper I (code DG28) and six from each set of Paper II (code BB6). A corrigendum in October changed one scheduled-area cut-off. Results are on the RSSB Results page.
Cut Off
Cut-offs for the typing test shortlist, 2026 cycle, non-scheduled area, out of 200 (Paper I plus Paper II):
| Category | General | Female | Widow | Divorcee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| General | 153.6821 | 148.6930 | 82.8132 | 86.8544 |
| EWS | 143.7019 | 138.2996 | NA | 80.9933 |
| OBC | 149.4976 | 143.2297 | NA | 81.0721 |
| MBC | 142.1894 | 129.4566 | NA | 81.1743 |
| SC | 135.0272 | 124.7450 | 77.0265 | 71.8911 |
| ST | 122.9152 | 118.9924 | 72.9996 | 73.8643 |
Ex-servicemen (general) 61.6931; Sahariya 73.522. The widow and divorcee lines sit 60 to 70 marks below the open line, because those sub-quotas (8% and 2% inside the women's quota) have few applicants. Scheduled-area figures are on the Junior Assistant page.
Preparation Tips
- Paper I is Class 10 level but heavy on Rajasthan: history, culture, geography and economy make up most of the GK part.
- Fill a bubble for every question. A blank costs the same as a wrong answer, and too many blanks remove you from the list.
- Start typing practice in both Hindi and English now. The written cut-off only gets you into the typing room; the final rank adds the typing marks.
- The Board posts the master question paper and keys after the exam on its answer keys page. Older papers are under Old Papers.
