Telangana AMVI Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility
202 topics across 9 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
An Assistant Motor Vehicles Inspector (AMVI) is a technical post in the Telangana Transport Department. The Telangana Public Service Commission, now called TGPSC, recruits for it. Its latest notification is No. 31/2022, dated 31 December 2022, for 113 posts split between two multi-zones (54 in Multi-Zone I, 59 in Multi-Zone II).
That round is finished: the written test was held on 12 June 2023 and the provisional selection list came out on 10 October 2024, after certificate verification from June to October 2024. TGPSC has no newer AMVI notification, so the details below are from that cycle. An older round existed under No. 14/2015.

| II: Automobile Engineering (diploma level) | 150 | 150 min | 300 (2 per question) | English |
Both papers must be attempted. Missing one is disqualification. Marks of questions deleted after objections are credited in proportion to each candidate's performance on the other questions.

Selection Process
Selection rests on the written test and on meeting the physical and medical standards. Candidates in merit order, category by category, are called to verify certificates. They give their order of preference for the two multi-zones on the spot, and allotment follows merit and that preference only.
Qualifying minimums are 40 per cent for OC, sportspersons and EWS, 35 per cent for BC and 30 per cent for SC and ST. Ties are broken by local status (Telangana candidates first), then date of birth (older first), then marks in the engineering paper, then higher qualification.
Salary
Pay scale ₹45,960–1,24,150 a month.
How to Apply
Candidates registered once on the TGPSC site (One Time Registration), then applied online with their TGPSC ID. The 2022 fee was ₹200 for processing plus ₹120 for the exam; unemployed candidates were exempt from the exam fee and employees of any government body paid it. Payment was online and not refundable. Objecting to the preliminary key cost ₹500 per objection.
