TN TRB CS Syllabus, Important Dates and Practice Questions
181 topics across 6 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
This record covers computer-related lecturer posts, called Computer Engineering in the TRB's polytechnic syllabus list.
TRB's notifications page lists no recruitment for Polytechnic Lecturers or Government Engineering College Assistant Professors at present. The only engineering-college exam TRB has run recently was the written test for Anna University's 232 Assistant Professor, Assistant Librarian and Assistant Director (Physical Education) posts under Anna University notification 001/2023. TRB held it on 5 and 6 April 2025, while applications went to Anna University itself.
Computer Science and Engineering applicants would hold a B.E. or B.Tech in the discipline; each notification states what it accepts.

How to Apply
Nothing is open. TRB takes applications on its own portal for its own recruitments, while for Anna University posts the application went through the university, so read whichever notification is current.
Important Dates
No notification date is open. For reference, the Polytechnic Lecturer syllabus on the TRB site is labelled 2017-18, and the Anna University written test was on 5 and 6 April 2025 with hall tickets uploaded about a week earlier. The syllabus page for Assistant Professors in Government Engineering Colleges says only that it will be uploaded in future. New notices appear on the TRB notifications page.
Preparation Tips
The syllabus reads like a standard degree-level computer science paper, so past GATE-style practice on algorithms, operating systems, databases and networks fits it well. Do not leave out units 8 to 10, which are the unusual ones.
