Syllabus
- Paper I: current affairs, international relations, general science, environment, geography of India and Telangana, history and heritage, Telangana policies, reasoning and data interpretation, and basic English at 8th class standard.
- Paper II: the socio-cultural history of Telangana and the formation of the state, the Indian Constitution and politics, and social structure, issues and public policies.
- Paper III: the Indian economy, the Telangana economy, and issues of development and change.
Group-III has no separate paper on the Telangana movement; that is a Group-II paper. The detailed topics are in Annexure III of the notification.
Eligibility Criteria
A degree from a recognised university is enough for almost every post. A few posts add conditions: the Junior Assistant at the Kaloji Narayana Rao health university needs a degree with computer science as a subject, and the post code 42 Junior Assistant needs computers as an optional subject or a recognised computer certificate. The notification sets these out post by post.
Age is 18 to 44 on 1 July 2022, with the usual relaxations: 5 years for SC, ST, BC and EWS, 10 for persons with disability, up to 5 for Telangana government employees, and 3 plus service for ex-servicemen.
Selection Process
A single written test decides selection; there is no interview. Qualifying candidates are called for certificate verification and exercise web options for departments. Minimum marks are 40% for OC and EWS, 35% for BC, and 30% for SC, ST and PH. Ties are broken by local status, then age.
Salary
The Finance Department posts (Senior Accountant, Auditor, Assistant Auditor) carry a scale of ₹32,810–96,890. Junior Assistants are on ₹24,280–72,850. In 2022 the Finance posts were the biggest block: Senior Accountant (Zonal) 248, Senior Accountant (Treasuries) 140, Auditor 126, Senior Auditor 61.
How to Apply
Apply through your OTR profile at tgpsc.gov.in. The 2022 fee was ₹200 for processing and ₹80 for the exam, with unemployed candidates exempt from the exam fee. Candidates ranked twelve exam centres by preference.
