UKPSC RO ARO Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility
153 topics across 6 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
Review Officer (RO, Samiksha Adhikari) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) are office posts in the Uttarakhand Secretariat, the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission's own office and the Board of Revenue office. The Commission recruits both through one exam: the Review Officer / Assistant Review Officer Examination.

The next one is coming: the Commission's exam calendar for 2026-27 puts the RO/ARO Exam-2026 preliminary on 23 May 2027. The advertisement had not been published as of 16 October 2026.
The Commission also runs separate RO/ARO exams for other offices, each with its own advertisement: RO/ARO (Accounts) for the Secretariat and the Commission, RO/ARO in the Advocate General's Office at Nainital, Review Officer in the State Election Commission, and Assistant Review Officer in the High Court.

Preparation Tips
- Uttarakhand is roughly half the General Studies syllabus at both stages. Study the state's history, land system, geography and economy in depth.
- Merit rests on the 400-mark main, and 200 of that is Hindi composition and essay. Write timed practice answers in Hindi.
- Get your Hindi typing on a computer well past 4,000 key depressions an hour before the main result. Since February 2025 the Commission lets you bring your own USB keyboard to its typing tests, with a signed declaration.
- The 2023 papers are on the Commission's site (see Important links), as are papers from the sister RO/ARO exams.
