UPPCL Assistant Engineer Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility

The 2022 E&M round used a CBT, split 75% engineering, 10% general knowledge, 10% reasoning and 5% Hindi, one mark a question and a quarter off for each wrong one. GATE replaces it for later rounds.

For 2022 the Commission said the branch syllabus equals that of GATE 2021. Look up the GATE paper for your branch: Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, or Computer Science and IT.

Full-time degree, 21 to 40 years on 1 January 2022, and Hindi in Devnagari. Reservation is for Uttar Pradesh domicile only. The Civil advertisement has its own conditions.

In 2022: CBT, then interview for up to two times the category-wise vacancies, and a select list on combined marks. Under 30 per cent in the CBT meant no interview. The process after GATE shortlisting had not been published by October 2026.

Pay Matrix Level 10, starting at ₹59,500, with allowances under UPPCL rules.

Applications go through uppcl.org. The 2022 fee was ₹1,180 for most candidates, ₹826 for SC and ST of Uttar Pradesh, and ₹12 for persons with disabilities. Non-refundable.

Nothing was open in October 2026.

Lists appear on the Vacancy/Results page by advertisement number. Interview call letters for the 2022 E&M round went up on 9 November 2022.

UPPCL has not printed cut-off marks for this post in the advertisement, and the notices on the Vacancy/Results page give selected lists rather than the last mark. The 30 per cent CBT bar was the only published threshold in 2022.
