UPPCL Technician Grade 2 Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility

Two-part CBT of three hours: 50 questions of computer knowledge (NIELIT CCC level, 20 marks needed, not counted in merit), then a 200-mark paper of 20 general studies and reasoning, 15 Hindi, 15 English and 150 technical. A quarter mark is cut for each wrong answer, and 67 of 200 is the minimum.

The 2018 advertisement asked for Class 10 with science and maths and a regular two-year NCVT/SCVT certificate as Electrician or Electrical. Age was 18 to 40 on 1 January 2018. Reservation was for Uttar Pradesh residents only.

Merit is on the 200-mark paper, with up to two times the vacancies called for document checks. Apprentices under the 1961 Act get preference on ties.

Pay Matrix Level 4, ₹27,200 to ₹86,100, plus allowances.

The 2018 form went through uppcl.org, which still hosts current applications. Vacancies split between UPPCL (2,115) and UPPTCL (664), and candidates gave a preference order.
