ICDS Supervisors oversee Anganwadi centres under the Integrated Child Development Services scheme, run in West Bengal by the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department. Direct recruitment is through WBPSC and is open to women graduates only. (Serving Anganwadi workers have a separate promotion route, also run through WBPSC.)
The only direct recruitment on the current WBPSC site is Advertisement 8/2019, for 2,954 posts. It took until February 2023 for the main list to come out, and WBPSC is still recommending candidates from that panel against posts left vacant by people who did not join, most recently in May 2026. No new advertisement for ICDS Supervisor had been issued by October 2026.

Syllabus
- Preliminary: general knowledge, arithmetic, verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
- Paper I, English: report drafting, translation into English, summary or precis, grammar (word usage, voice, narration, transformation and correction of sentences, phrases, synonyms, antonyms).
- Paper II, second language: report drafting, translation from English, summary or precis, grammar.
- Paper III: life science with emphasis on nutrition and health, women's empowerment issues, Indian history (especially the freedom struggle), geography, environmental science, physical science, current affairs, and reasoning.
- Paper IV: arithmetic.

Selection Process
Preliminary screening, then the four-paper Main, then a viva-voce at the WBPSC office. WBPSC can fix separate cut-offs for each category at every stage. Selected candidates need a medical fitness certificate before joining.
Salary
The 2019 advertisement gave the pre-2020 scale: Pay Band 3, ₹7,100 to ₹37,600 with grade pay ₹3,600, about ₹27,000 a month in total at the start. West Bengal moved to ROPA 2019 pay levels afterwards, so a new advertisement will quote a pay level instead.
How to Apply
In 2019 the form was online on the then WBPSC application site, and the fee was ₹160 plus charges; SC and ST candidates of West Bengal and PwD candidates paid nothing. Applications now go through one-time registration on psc.wb.gov.in.

There is no fixed yearly cycle. A new advertisement would appear on the WBPSC advertisement and announcement pages.
Result
Results and recommendations for 8/2019 are on the Recommendation page. In March 2026 WBPSC revised the merit positions of 31 recommended candidates after one candidate's marks went up, and replaced its December 2025 non-joining list with a revised list.
Cut Off
WBPSC published marks for all 8,126 candidates called to the personality test (February 2023) and the marks of unsuccessful candidates (June 2022), but no single category cut-off table for this recruitment.
