Patna High Court Important Dates and Practice Questions
173 topics across 6 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
The Patna High Court recruits its own non-judicial staff through its Recruitment and Appointment Cell. There is no single "Patna High Court exam": each post gets its own numbered advertisement (PHC/01/2026 and so on), its own test and its own result, all posted on the Recruitments page.
Judicial posts are different. Civil Judges are recruited by the Bihar Public Service Commission, while the High Court itself runs the District Judge (Entry Level) exam for advocates. Clerks, stenographers and peons for the district civil courts are recruited by a separate committee at the Civil Courts, Patna.

Selection Process
Most staff exams follow the same shape: a computer based or OMR test (with a screening test first if applications are heavy), a skill test where the job needs one (typing, shorthand, computer proficiency, cycling), then a short interview, usually 10 marks. Final merit is the written and skill marks plus interview.
Rules that recur in every advertisement:
- Apply online only, through the link on the Recruitments page.
- Age relaxation, women's 35% horizontal reservation and fee concessions are for permanent residents of Bihar. Others compete as unreserved.
- Upload caste, NCL, EWS and domicile certificates with the form; the same ones must be shown at verification. Wrong category entries are re-assessed as unreserved.
- Stage-wise cut-offs come with each result. Individual scores are released only after the final result.
