Rajasthan ANM Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility
143 topics across 10 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
Rajasthan ANM is recruitment to the post the state calls Female Health Worker (Contractual), Samvida Mahila Swasthya Karyakarta; the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board's answer key adds A.N.M. in brackets. It's a contract post under the Rajasthan Contractual Hiring to Civil Posts Rules 2022, for the National Health Mission and the Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, and since 2025 also the Rajasthan Medical Education Society. Only women can apply.

|---|---|---|
| Name | ANM (Contractual) Recruitment 2023 | Contractual Female Health Worker Direct Recruitment 2025 |
| Advertised | 6 July 2023 | 28 January 2025, amended four times |
| Posts | 3,058, raised from 2,058 | 234 |
| Exam | 3 February 2024, 100 questions | 12 June 2025, evening, 150 questions |
| Status | Finished; sixth and final list 31 December 2025 | Cut-offs 31 October 2025; scrutiny forms 8 to 14 November 2025 |
The 2023 advertisement had 2,058 posts (1,865 non-scheduled, 193 scheduled). The department added 1,000, and the amended notice of 12 January 2024 took it to 3,058 (2,770 non-scheduled, 288 scheduled).
The biggest factor in selection is the widow and divorced-woman sub-quota: in 2023 a General woman needed 120.0000 while a General widow was selected at 4.6667. And the Board's formula charges for blank answers, so you should answer every question.

Exam Pattern
The Board publishes no scheme document. The answer keys and result orders give:
| 2023 cycle | 2025 cycle | |
|---|---|---|
| Date | 3 February 2024 | 12 June 2025, evening shift |
| Exam code | 87 | PJ971 |
| Questions | 100, four options | 150, four options |
| Questions deleted | – | None |
| DV shortlist | – | Two times the posts, by category |
The marking formula
As printed on the 2025 result order:
Total Marks = Σ of [ (RQ × KF) − (WQ × KF) / 3 ] − (Maximum Marks × Not Attempted Questions) / (Total Number of Questions × 3)
RQ is right answers, WQ wrong answers, and the Key Factor KF = (Maximum Marks / Total Questions) × (Total Questions / Valid Questions).
- A wrong answer costs a third of a question's value.
- A blank costs the same third. So a guess can only help.
- If questions are deleted, the rest are worth more. None were deleted in 2025.
- Leave more than ten per cent unmarked and you're disqualified. 131 candidates were removed from the 2025 result for this.
No duration, subject split or maximum marks are published. Cut-offs reach 120 on the 100-question paper and 207 on the 150-question one, so it isn't one mark per question.
Syllabus
No syllabus has been published for this post. The Board's Syllabus page had nothing for ANM (Contractual) or NHM (Contractual Posts) when checked on 12 September 2026. If a scheme is issued for a later cycle, it will appear there.
The paper is set at the level of the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife diploma recognised by the Indian Nursing Council, so prepare from that curriculum: community health nursing and national health programmes; antenatal, intranatal and postnatal care and the newborn; midwifery and normal delivery; child health and immunisation; family welfare; nutrition and health education; communicable and non-communicable disease and first aid; primary health care administration and records. No general knowledge share has been published.
Eligibility Criteria
The original advertisements are no longer on the Board's site, only the amended notices, which carry vacancy tables but not the education, age or fee clauses. Read those in the next advertisement when it appears on the advertisements page.
What the surviving documents show
- Women only. Every male column in the vacancy table reads zero.
- 2023: Rajasthan Contractual Recruitment Rules 2022, for NHM. 2025: Contractual Hiring to Civil Posts Rules 2022, as amended, for NHM and RajMES. These are contract posts, not regular ones.
- Each category splits into general woman, widow and divorced or separated woman: 8 per cent of women's posts for widows, 2 per cent for divorced women. Unfilled seats pass between the two, then to general women of the category.
- A widow needs her marriage certificate and her husband's death certificate. A divorced woman needs the court decree, obtained by the last date for applying.
- Reservation is for Rajasthan residents only; others compete as unreserved. Scheduled-area posts are for local residents of those areas.

Selection Process
One written exam, then the department's eligibility check and document verification, then the Board's recommendation. No interview.
2023
The exam on 3 February 2024 was followed by the primary key on 27 February 2024 and the final key and a provisional list for verification on 11 June 2024. Recommendations then came in six lists:
| Date | List |
|---|---|
| 12 March 2025 | First, with cut-offs |
| 11 June 2025 | Second |
| 12 September 2025 | Third |
| 16 October 2025 | Fourth |
| 17 December 2025 | Fifth: 2,973 recommended so far (2,688 non-scheduled, 285 scheduled) |
| 19 December 2025 | Amended orders and a recommendation withdrawal list |
| 31 December 2025 | Sixth and final: 42 more (39 non-scheduled, 3 scheduled), and roll number 408572 withdrawn |
That's 3,015 of 3,058 recommended. The Board doesn't say what happened to the rest.
2025
Twice the posts per category were shortlisted for document verification, and they filled an online scrutiny form between 8 and 14 November 2025.
Salary
No pay figure is given in any document the Board still publishes for this post. Pay is set by the engaging department under the contract rules, not by a pay matrix level, and appears in each cycle's original advertisement and in National Health Mission orders. Check the next advertisement on the RSSB advertisements page when it opens.
How to Apply
Apply online through SSO Rajasthan: Citizen Apps (G2C), then Recruitment Portal, or at an e-Mitra kiosk or Jan Suvidha Kendra. Complete the One Time Registration first; the category, disability status and home state you enter there can't be changed on the form.
The One Time Registration fee is ₹400 for Rajasthan OBC and MBC non-creamy layer, EWS, SC and ST candidates and all Divyangjan, more for General candidates. Candidates from outside Rajasthan pay the General fee. The exact figures are in each cycle's advertisement.
Under Personnel Department circular P.8(3)/Karmik/Ka-2/2023-04443 of 9 May 2025, missing two exams in a financial year held by RPSC, RSSB or any state recruiter blocks your registration. Unblocking costs ₹750, then ₹1,500 for a second time that year.

The Board was set up on 29 January 2014 (notification F.8(7)DOP/A-II/2008) as the Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board, for posts with grade pay of ₹3,600 or less.
Since 2025, Female Health Worker is one cadre in a combined NHM and RajMES contract recruitment, with Community Health Officer, nurses, lab technicians, compounders, therapists, social workers, engineers, data entry operators and accountants. Each has its own paper and cut-off. Watch for NHM (Contractual Posts) on the advertisement index; the Board doesn't use the word ANM in its exam list.
Exam Centres
Papers are held across Rajasthan, in up to three shifts a day, with different question sets for different candidates. Your centre, date and shift are on the admit card. The 2025 paper was in the evening, which for district candidates can mean an overnight stay.

Result
The Board publishes keys, a provisional list, and then Final Recommendation and Cut Off Marks orders on its Results page. The 2025 merit list (13 pages) gives every qualified candidate's marks; the top mark in the scheduled-area list was 242.0000. The 2023 orders give roll numbers and cut-offs only.
For 2025: 234 posts, 165 non-scheduled and 69 scheduled. A recommendation isn't an appointment; the department appoints and can report a candidate ineligible, after which the Board withdraws the recommendation.

2025, non-scheduled area, 2025 result order

|---|---|
| General woman | 207 |
| General divorced | 194 |

Scheduled area General woman: 158. Every other cell, including all widow and disability rows, was NA. With 234 posts instead of 3,058, the line was far higher. No maximum mark is published (2025 marks reach 242 on 150 questions), so read these on the Board's own scale, not as percentages.
Preparation Tips
- Answer every question. Blanks cost as much as wrong answers, and more than ten per cent unmarked disqualifies you.
- Look at the vacancy count before the cut-off. In 2023-24, 3,058 posts meant a General line of 120 and EWS 38; in 2025, 234 posts meant 207.
- If you're a widow or divorced, get the documents ready before the closing date. Neither can be produced late.
- Study the ANM diploma curriculum; there's no Board syllabus.
- Use the Board's own keys and master papers to see the question style, and plan for 150 questions, not 100.
- Note the question text, not just its number, if you mean to object. Sets differ, and objections are ₹100 each, taken once, over about three days.
- Watch for the scrutiny form after the result. In 2025 it was open only a week.
