What is the maximum data rate for the 802.11g standard?
Answer: D
Correct answer: 54Mbps
802.11g reaches 54 Mbps, matching 802.11a while staying in the 2.4 GHz band, which is what made it backward compatible with 802.11b equipment. That compatibility has a cost: when a b client associates, the cell falls back to protection mechanisms that reduce throughput for everyone on it.
