Answer: C
Correct answer: Keeps chosen rows or columns visible while the rest of the sheet scrolls
Freeze Panes, on the View tab, keeps chosen rows or columns in view while the rest of the sheet scrolls beneath them. Its usual purpose is to hold a header row visible while working far down a long list. The rule for what gets frozen is worth knowing precisely: everything above and to the left of the selected cell is frozen. Selecting B2 therefore freezes row 1 and column A together. The menu also offers Freeze Top Row and Freeze First Column directly, without any selection. It affects only the display and nothing else - not editing, not calculation, not printing. For printing, the equivalent is Print Titles on the Page Layout tab, which repeats chosen rows or columns on every printed page. The two are frequently confused, and freezing panes has no effect at all on the printed output. Split, alongside it, divides the window into independently scrollable panes instead.
