Answer: B
Correct answer: The slide remains in the file but is skipped during the presentation
Hide Slide keeps the slide in the presentation but skips it during the show. In the thumbnail pane its number appears struck through, so hidden slides are easy to identify. Its use is for material held in reserve: detailed backup slides answering questions that may or may not be asked, or an appendix kept for the printed handout but not for the talk. Nothing is lost, and the slide can be unhidden with the same command. A hidden slide can still be reached during a presentation if wanted - typing its number and pressing Enter jumps to it, and it appears in the Presenter View slide grid - which is exactly what makes it useful for answering a question. It is also included when printing unless Print hidden slides is unticked. The alternative for organising a long deck is sections, which group slides under collapsible headings without affecting whether they are shown.
