The Indian Institute of Soil Science is at Bhopal.
The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science was set up in 1988 at Nabibagh, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, to carry out basic and strategic research on soil health, nutrient management and soil biology. It also coordinates the All India Coordinated Research Projects on soil test crop response and long-term fertiliser experiments.
Hyderabad has the Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Jabalpur has the Directorate of Weed Research, and Ahmedabad has no ICAR soil institute; none is the seat of the IISS.
