MPPSC Forest Service - 2023,
Answer: D
The country with the highest tiger population is India.
India is home to about three quarters of the world's wild tigers. The All India Tiger Estimation of 2018 counted about 2,967 tigers, the figure cited around the time of the 2021 forest report, and the 2022 estimation raised it to over 3,000. Madhya Pradesh has the largest number among the states.
Nepal has a few hundred tigers, and Namibia and South Africa have no wild tigers at all, since tigers are native only to Asia.
