Which statement/statements is/are true?
MPPSC Forest Service - 2023,
Answer: D
All four statements are true, so the answer is (a), (b), (c) and (d).
They restate Section 35 of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972:
- (a) Section 35(5): the boundaries of a National Park cannot be altered except on a resolution of the State Legislature (now also on the recommendation of the National Board for Wild Life).
- (b) Section 35(6): no one may destroy, exploit or remove wildlife or destroy its habitat in a National Park except under a permit.
- (c) Section 35(7): no grazing of livestock is permitted in a National Park.
- (d) Section 35(1): the State Government may declare an area a National Park for its ecological, faunal, floral or geomorphological importance.
Each narrower option leaves out one of these provisions.
