Answer: B
Correct answer: 1.08 lines
Since Word 2007 the default line spacing in a new blank document has been 1.08 lines, with 8 points of space added after each paragraph. Both were introduced to make text easier to read on screen than the tighter single spacing of earlier versions. This catches out anyone expecting exact single spacing, and it is the reason a document created in Word looks slightly looser than one converted from an older file. Line spacing is set from the Paragraph group on the Home tab, and the options include Single, 1.5, Double, At least, Exactly and Multiple. Exactly fixes the spacing in points and will clip anything taller, which is why it is used with care. Ctrl + 1, Ctrl + 5 and Ctrl + 2 apply single, 1.5 and double spacing directly. Space before and after a paragraph is a separate setting from line spacing within it, and the two are often confused.
