The length of a train and that of a platform are equal. If with a speed of 90 k/hr, the train crosses the platform in one minute, then the length of the train (in meters) is:
Answer: D
\[ 1 \text{ km/hr} = \frac{5}{18} \text{ m/s} \]
\[ 90 \text{ km/hr} = 25 \text{ m/s} \]
In one minute the train covers
\[ 25 \times 60 = 1500 \text{ m} \]
That is the train plus the platform, and the two are equal:
\[ 2L = 1500 \quad\Longrightarrow\quad L = 750 \text{ metres} \]
